FAQs

How much does it cost?

A Spells & Dragons sessions cost $30 per child for a 90 minute weekly session. The stories run for a whole term (10 weeks; A ‘Session Zero’ and 9 x story sessions) for $300 per child and game groups consist of 5 to 6 players.

This cost also includes complementary access to D&D Beyond’s premium subscription service (around a $1000 of D&D content) and all the character building rules.

What happens if I can’t make a session?

Throughout the term, it’s totally normal and understandable you might have to miss a week or two. If that’s the case, let your game master know beforehand and he can make a simple narrative reason as to why your character isn’t present in the story for that week. As each of the sessions have recaps before they begin, you’ll be filled in on important moments you may have missed when you return.

Are there in-person games?

No, not in the traditional sense. Due to demand nationally, all our Spells & Dragons game are being run through video-chat on Discord. This means to take part you will need a computer with video camera and good internet quality.

We do however offer in person games for youth organisations looking to run service programs, but these are more of a specific design run during weekdays.

What time do sessions run?

Spells & Dragons runs games Monday - Thursday and runs sessions from 4pm - 5.30pm and from 6pm - 7.30pm. Spaces are limited however, so sign up now! Or join our waitlist if all terms are currently booked.

We too, run occasional weekend sessions for those curious about trying D&D as well as for those on our waitlists. These are irregular in nature and run when we have enough interested players.

Why pay for a Spells & Dragons Game Master?

While it is true that many people run their own home games, Spells & Dragons removes both the difficulty of getting started with D&D as well as takes away the safety risks. D&D is a collaborative story telling game and without the prosocial skills, emotional intelligence and game knowledge of our game masters, D&D can become a negative space.

Our game masters teach these skills to new players so that they can grow in confidence and ability and eventually have the skills and ability to run their own games at home for friends and family.

What if I pay for a Spells & Dragons term but the day choosen does not work for me?

While we will endevour to match you to the day you have expressed as your preferential choice, we cannot confirm a specific day due to registration numbers. If for any reason the day given is not suitable, we will happily offer a full refund.

Am I able to sit in and watch my child play?

Of course! We’re more than happy to have any support person sit in during game sessions!
